These terms govern your use of outluxtravel.com and The Dispatch newsletter. By using the site you accept them. Trip planning and booking through Outlux Escapes is a separate service with its own terms, which you accept when you book a planning session or commission a plan.

What the site is

Outlux publishes independent editorial opinion about hotels, restaurants, and destinations, based on stays we booked anonymously and paid for in full. Everything on the site is opinion formed on a particular visit. Hotels change ownership, management, staff, and standards; prices, availability, and policies change constantly. We do our best to be accurate at the time of writing and make no promise that anything remains so, or that your experience will match ours. Check details directly with a property before you rely on them.

Independence and how we are paid

No hotel pays to appear in the Collection, and none is told in advance of a stay. The site carries no advertising, no sponsored content, and no affiliate links. Outlux Escapes, our planning and booking service, receives standard industry commissions from hotels when it books clients; whether a hotel pays commission has no bearing on whether it appears in the Collection. We set this out in full on our Editorial Independence page.

The Dispatch

Subscribing is free. We may change the newsletter’s frequency or content, or stop it, at any time. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. How we handle your email address is described in our Privacy Policy.

Our content

The text, photographs, The Outlux 100 framework, the Outlux Verdict format, and the Outlux name and marks are ours. You may read, link to, and quote short passages of the site with attribution. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, or use our content for commercial purposes, including to train machine-learning systems, without written permission. Hotels and their agencies may not quote or excerpt an entry in marketing materials without our written consent.

Links to other sites

We link to hotels, restaurants, and other sites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or how they treat your data.

Limitation of liability

The site and newsletter are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Outlux is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on anything published on it, including any decision to book, or not to book, a property we have written about. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the version in force. Questions to info@outluxtravel.com.
